Consultancy recognises contribution of commercial building sector specialist

Leading commercial building, project and sustainability consultancy Jones Hargreaves has promoted Joe Hawkins to Partner.

Chartered Building Surveyor Joe joined the firm’s London office in 2020 as Associate Partner, working alongside the consultancy team during a significant period of growth to provide professional services and deliver projects across a range of sectors including industrial, office and retail.

Joe has more than ten years’ experience in the commercial building sector, having previously held positions at Hollis and Cushman and Wakefield. Specialising in a range of work including Dilapidations, Technical Due Diligence (TDD), Contract Administration and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Joe covers London and South East for Jones Hargreaves.

Recent projects of note have included a 40,000 square foot office refurbishment with ESG improvement works, a portfolio of industrial dilapidations and the associated refurbishment works and a range of pre-acquisition advice for a self-storage provider across London and the South East. Key clients include Mileway Real Estate, Westbrook Partners, ARA Europe and Cinch Self Storage.

Joe Hawkins said:

“It’s been incredibly rewarding to be part of this company as it has grown in recent years. I’m excited for this opportunity and am looking forward to working alongside the existing partners to make a positive difference to underpin the future direction of Jones Hargreaves.

“We have some really exciting, large-scale projects in the pipeline across London and the South East and I will continue to work closely with clients to deliver high-quality work, while also supporting the growing team in our region.”

Matthew Jones, founding partner at Jones Hargreaves, said:

“Joe has made a really big impact in our business and we want to recognise these achievements. We know that his diligent, professional approach will be a huge asset to our board. As a national independent consultancy we’re focused on making sure that we enable our team to grow and develop in their careers.”

The promotion comes as Jones Hargreaves recently reported a 60% turnover uplift in its latest accounts after successfully bolstering its ESG services, opening new offices and expanding its professional team. The national consultancy firm, which now has offices in London, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff and Glasgow, completed over 800 instructions and increased its headcount to 35 during the year ended December 31, 2023, with further new team members joining in early 2024. The business was founded 15 years ago by Matthew Jones and Peter Hargreaves and has systematically scaled-up its operations in recent years to meet evolving and growing client demand.

In response to the changing requirements of clients, Jones Hargreaves launched an Asset Decarbonisation Report for the commercial property sector while attending MIPIM 2024.

Jones Hargreaves offers services including project management and building, MEP, sustainability and ESG consultancy. The firm has a dedicated and adapting ESG and sustainability team able to scrutinise potential acquisitions, improve the management of existing portfolios and advise on improving energy and carbon performance.
