Milky Plant

Plant-based milk company named as one to watch

London-based private company, Milky Plant, has been named as one of 100 British businesses to watch in the FEBE (For Entrepreneurs, By Entrepreneurs) Growth 100 2024.

Milky Plant founders, Nadina and Michael, have been on a rapid growth trajectory since launching just three years ago. They turned over £2m within two years after crowd funding the initial product development of the only appliance that truly makes plant-based milk at home. They are set to turn over £10m this financial year as the plant-based milk phenomenon goes from strength to strength.

Michael said:

“It’s amazing to be included in the FEBE list just three years into our business journey. We have made many mistakes along the way and being privately owned means that we are able to go at our own pace and look after our loyal customers without the pressure of having to grow incredibly quickly. Having said that, this year is set to be pivotal for us as we hit eight-figure turn over for the first time. We are actively looking for retail listings as our growth to date has been via our own website, plus we will be launching new versions of the machine in multiple colours later this year.”

FEBE is the list that celebrates true British entrepreneurialism.

Commenting on the new FEBE Growth 100, FEBE co-founder Charlotte Quince said:

“We’re excited to publish this year’s Growth 100 and Watch List. However, FEBE is so much more than just a list. We are a network determined to empower and support one another.

“Those in our list – and the FEBE legends that have appeared in previous lists – work together to share ideas and support each other. Together, we want to celebrate entrepreneurs who are the heartbeat of the UK economy; as they inspire, create, and drive positive change. We bring these leaders together throughout the year at our exclusive events and we share their incredible stories.”

Milky Plant is an innovative and unique appliance and while there are other appliances that claim to make plant-based milk at home, none have the functionality or features that Milky Plant boasts. The other appliances are extra fine blenders which don’t separate the leftover pulp from the milk and can’t self-clean like Milky Plant can.

The sales of Milky Plant have increased 450% from year one to year two and now going into year three it is predicted that these will increase 350% going into their third year.

John Maffioli, FEBE co-founder, said:

“The FEBE lists reveal incredible founder-led companies. The FEBE Growth 100 and Watch List are where you’ll find some of the most talented entrepreneurs, most exciting companies and their incredible teams.”

Former Dragons’ Den Dragon and FEBE Growth 100 Ambassador Jenny Campbell added:

“I’m proud to be part of something that celebrates and supports entrepreneurs and their companies. The FEBE Growth 100 focuses on true entrepreneurialism. Founders are unique: their experiences, vision and resilience are unlike anything else.”

The Milky Plant machine costs £290 and it takes around 180 uses to recoup the costs of the machine, depending which ingredients are used to make the milk.
