SHEQ Group Ltd conducting an onsite survey

Is the health, safety and wellbeing of your staff one of your core values?

“Our aim is to make life more straightforward for those companies who need to improve or build on their health and safety performance.”

Founded in 2021, SHEQ  Group Ltd, which has offices in Northamptonshire  and Manchester, is a Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management (SHEQ) Consultancy and Training service provider that prides itself on delivering innovative, leading edge consultancy services to a client base that encompasses many sectors.

Managing Director, David Bell, oversees SHEQ GROUP’s team of four consultants and drives the firm’s culture of high performance, innovation and continual improvement.

David has experience in high-profile, senior health and safety roles spanning diverse sectors, including construction, civil engineering, high-speed manufacturing, chemical and MEP engineering services. He has particular expertise in high-risk sectors and an outstanding safety record.

David works closely with clients at a senior level, providing strategic direction, including support with policy, procedure and process, that helps businesses transform their health and safety performance.

SHEQ Group’s new Head of Compliance and Training, Phil Moseley, said:

“Health and safety is vital in all businesses, whether that’s to  meet strict legislation, or just making  sure you have good practice in place.”

SHEQ Group onsite survey

Already, SHEQ Group Ltd is working alongside some of the leading companies and contractors in the UK providing them with a competent, comprehensive source of advice. The aim is to provide practical guidance and support in finding the right solutions to fit an organisation, whether that be regular site inspections  or assistance with achieving accreditations such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, CHAS, Safe Contractor and Achilles Building Confidence.

SHEQ Group Ltd offers Ofqual regulated courses in first aid, first aid for mental health, fire safety and fire marshalling and IOSH and site management safety, with further regulated courses on the horizon.

Training courses cover a comprehensive range of bespoke, generic and specific health and safety training and can be offered to individuals or groups at clients’ own premises or at various locations across the country at times to suit operational needs.

Phil added:

“Our aim is to make life more straightforward for those companies who need to improve or build on their health and safety performance. A small company can’t necessarily afford the luxury of a dedicated health and safety person, yet the consequences, financially and to a company’s reputation, of making mistakes and a serious accident happening, can be devastating. By using a consultancy like ours, you only pay for what you need.

“Health and safety is a massive area and growing all the time – mental health awareness is a massive part of our work now, for instance – but with the right input, it doesn’t have to be complex or confusing. We offer a free audit, of your business with no obligation whatsoever, which gives advice on where an organisation needs to improve things, or what they should be looking at implementing.

“Accidents can and often do happen, sometimes with tragic consequences, but it is possible to reduce risks. Our motto is fairly simple, ‘everyone has the right to go home at the end of their shift in the same condition they arrived in’. We can help clients do their best to make sure that happens.

“They don’t have to use us to deliver the courses, but if they then want us to come in and look after the training training, all the better. And we have thousands of courses to choose from which can be tailored to any industry and any specific needs.”

Having clear and certified health and safety procedures in place gives organisations a significant competitive advantage when tendering as more and more companies require management system certification from suppliers and sub-contractors in order to conduct business with them.

SHEQ Group Ltd will set up a management system, arrange the external certification body and be present to assist during the certification audit, but to be certified, businesses need to implement an effective management system, complying with the requirements of the standard. A strong management system ensures carefully planned, documented and executed processes that meet specified standards and deliver predictable results, allowing the organisation to operate successfully, and for its customers to rely on such operations.
