UK Black Entrepreneurs

Opening dialogue about black entrepreneurship

The inaugural UK Black Entrepreneurs Conference, on July 14, follows on from The Black Entrepreneurs Report 2021, written by Dr Carlton Brown, which gives a contemporary insight into black entrepreneurship within the UK. The Black Business Association (BBA), and MSDUK have commended this report and have decided to become co-partners at the conference.

The key intention of the UK Black Business Entrepreneurs Conference to be held at the NatWest Conference Centre in Bishopsgate, is to galvanise a dialogue between different parts of the business community, policymakers, financial institutions, the public/private and third sectors, to foster open and meaningful conversations in a new and powerful way.

This premier event is designed to Empower, Engage and Educate black entrepreneurs with the tools they need to achieve greater success. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain insights from the latest research, network with other professionals, connect with successful entrepreneurs, connect with buyers, the public and private sector and learn how best practices can be applied in their business.

Founded by the author of the Black Entrepreneur Report, Dr Brown has a demonstrative history in both academia, in the corporate world, and as a successful entrepreneur, for supporting and building businesses who want to innovate, be creative, hold on to their values, whilst growing sustainable and successful business.

Dr Brown said:

“This year’s UK Black Business Entrepreneurs Conference is taking a closer look at the state of black entrepreneurship in order to find solutions for greater success and enable black business to ‘level -up’ with great speakers, great stories, great insights.”

Lord Michael Hastings Chairman of the London Chamber of Commerce Black Business Association (BBA) said

“The Black Entrepreneur Report (BER) is very timely, and it has shed much-needed light under the bushel of entrepreneurship within the UK”.

With 58% of the entrepreneurial space occupied by women, the conference will have a dynamic mix of speakers and commentators from across sectors. Attendees can expect to gain valuable contemporary insights from research, listen to great speakers, learn from successful entrepreneurs, network with other professionals, and learn about best practices that can be applied in their business. With a focus on The Black African, Caribbean Diaspora, the event will provide a snapshot into entrepreneurship across the different backgrounds and solutions to remove structural and systemic inequality.
