Kicking off the World Cup excitement just before the main action gets under way later this month, the recent Preview to Qatar afternoon saw guests enjoy the wit and wisdom of three football legends.
Ally McCoist, Michael Owen and Kelly Smith hosted the event, which was organised by All Things Business and sponsored by Panther Logistics. Guests also enjoyed a meal at the venue, the exclusive Nobu Hotel London Portman Square, on October 7.
The former players shared their thoughts on how the home nations are likely to fare in Qatar when the group matches begin on November 20, the first time the biggest tournament in men’s football has been held at this time of year.
Discussions revolved around the form of the England squad and Gareth Southgate’s potential starting 11, with guests chipping in with their own ideas on who should take to the field for England in the first match against Iran on Monday, November 21.
As well as listening to their expert opinions, guests were also able to meet Michael, Ally and Kelly, and had the chance to network with and introduce themselves to other business guests at the event. The occasion also raised awareness and donations for the mental health charity We Mind &
Kelly Matters.
Ben Thomas, Managing Director of All Things Business, said:
“It was a fantastic afternoon, listening to these three legends give their views on how they think the World Cup is going to pan out, as well as enjoying wonderful food at a great location.
“We want to thank everyone who supported the event, especially Michael Owen, Ally McCoist and Kelly Smith for their contribution and for making it a day to remember. It was thoroughly entertaining and got everyone in the mood for the big kick off.”
