Leading national law firm Simpson Millar has announced the further expansion of its specialist Military Claims team with the appointment of solicitors Jonathan Cloudsdale and Patrick Nelly.
Joining from Irwin Mitchell and based in London, Patrick Nelly joins the firm bringing with him more than 16 years of personal injury experience to the role, including seven specialising in bringing claims for injured service personnel against the MoD.
Whilst Patrick works across a wide range of cases to secure compensation to fund rehabilitation, ongoing medical treatment and specialist equipment, he has a particular interest in non-freezing cold injury.
He is joined by recently recruited specialist military accident and injury claims expert Jonathan Cloudsdale who is based in the Northwest.
Working across a variety of case types, and with a background in industrial disease claims, Jonathan regularly achieves six figure settlements on behalf of clients who have suffered as a result of post-traumatic stress disorder, military noise induced hearing loss, bullying and harassment and military medical negligence.
Most recently he has settled several claims on behalf of former military personnel who have been diagnosed with cancer because of exposure to toxic fumes while working on Sea King helicopters.
Jonathan and Patrick’s arrival at Simpson Millar follows hot on the heels of another high-profile hire for the firm’s Military Claims, with the appointment of Partner Sinead Cartwright announced earlier this summer.
Commenting on the expansion of the team, Deborah Krelle, Partner and head of the military department, said that the expertise and experience of the new recruits further complements the firm’s ability to deliver an unparalleled service to clients who have suffered injury through no fault of their own.
Deborah said:
“I am delighted to welcome Jonathan and Patrick to our established, national Military Claims department. Both of them bring to the team many years of experience representing members of the armed forces community, and a unique understanding of the environment faced by service personnel, veterans and their families.
“Their expertise will further bolster our ability to be open and available to our clients when they need us most and will complement our existing network of highly experienced and dedicated legal experts.”
Commenting on his new role, Jonathan Cloudsdale said:
“Simpson Millar’s established Military Claims department has a formidable reputation when it comes to protecting the rights of people who have been mistreated, or who have sustained an injury while serving in an armed forces capacity.
“I am delighted to be joining the firm alongside Patrick, and to have the opportunity to work alongside Sinead and the wider team.”
Simpson Millar is a leading consumer law firm of choice across the country representing clients including those going through a separation or divorce, people who have experienced medical negligence, and those who have become ill or injured because of their work or while serving in the Armed Forces.
