The King of Soho has been named as the Drinks Sponsor of The Soho London Independent Film Festival (SohoLIFF) and a cocktail has been created to mark the festival, which stages its awards this month at TWELfTH, 75 Dean Street, Soho.
The annual SohoLIFF, which first launched in 2020, has showcased numerous famous directors and actors including the Oscar-winning director, Guy Nativ; this year’s Cannes winner, Molly Manning Walker; as well as actors John Simm, Adjoa Andoh (of Bridgerton and Dr Who fame), Jim Broadbent, Ray Winstone, Tom Felton and T’Nia Miller. The shortlisted entries for this year’s festival, which takes place from January 25 to 28 can be found at https://www.soholiff.co.uk/trailers/
SohoLIFF takes place at TWELfTH, on Soho’s Dean Street, a collaboration between sponsor, All Is Joy, and Soho Estates. Fittingly, the building was for many years home to Warner Brothers’ De Lane Lea Studios, and some of the biggest movies in history were produced here.
Liz Farahadi of SohoLIFF said:
“SohoLIFF is all about community and we are thrilled to be working with The King of Soho, whose brand owners share our values. The fact they have the best gin and vodka is an added bonus.”
The King of Soho cocktail which will be served at the festival is named The SohoLIFF. It is an interpretation of the classic Bramble which was invented in 1984 by Dick Bradsell, a Soho cocktail legend. At the time he created this drink, he was working at Fred’s Club in Soho. This exceptional cocktail will be available at the bar at TWELfTH in the run up to the Festival.
Alex Robson, CEO of The King of Soho, said:
“Our brand was created in celebration of the spirit of Soho: the creativity and arts for which the district is renowned. We have keen supporters of independent film-making and, together with All Is Joy, we are delighted to support the Soho London Independent Film Festival.”
