Major awards shortlisting for women’s rights champion

Farzana Naz, Partner and Head of Family at law firm Saracens Solicitors, was named as a finalist for the prestigious Business Woman of the Year, at the highly-regarded Women of the Year Luncheon and Awards 2023.

A qualified solicitor with over 20 years’ experience in dealing with family law cases and recognised by the prestigious Good Lawyer Guide for good practice in 2012, Farzana joined Saracens Solicitors in 2014 as a family consultant and has been running the family department for the firm since then. She has managed a high number of complex cases including involving high-net-worth individuals. In 2018, her hard work and determination resulted in Farzana being appointed as a Director (Partner) at the practice.

As a mid-sized firm with both a national and international client base, Saracens Solicitors provides legal services in a wide range of areas including commercial law, real estate and property, commercial and general litigation, personal injury, family and immigration. The practice also provides Shariah compliant services.

Farzana has many key achievements to be proud of, one of which is the publication of her first book which she wrote with a divorce coach, ‘Divorce – Know the Score’, to support those thinking of getting divorced or separating.

She has a passion for helping others, particularly in their time of need. Significantly, Farzana is a volunteer of Rights of Women, where she provides free legal advice to women who cannot afford to pay for legal fees. She also runs a support group on social media called Separation and Divorce.

Farzana said:

“I feel honoured and absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for this amazing, prestigious award. There is so much talent amongst women that goes unrecognised; there should be more, similar awards. Good luck to all of the other finalists, I truly believe we are all winners.”

The Women of the Year Luncheon & Awards is a celebration of achievement which promotes positive female role models who provide inspiration across all areas of society and the business community.
